UPESSC PRT Assistant Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2026
Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban)
Candidates must hold a Graduation degree from a university established by law in India or have an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
Applicants must also possess a recognized teacher-training qualification, including BTC, BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, a 2-year Diploma in Special Education approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), a 4-year B.El.Ed., or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) recognized under the NCTE Regulations, 2002.
Candidates are also required to have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the State Government or Government of India.
Note: The BTC course is currently conducted under the name D.El.Ed.
Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary)
Candidates must possess a Graduation degree from a university established by law in India or from a recognized/deemed university or institution.
They must also hold a BTC or D.El.Ed. qualification from an NCTE-recognized course. In addition, applicants must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or Government of India for Classes 01 to 05.
